Hi, I'm Rokas, a front-end engineer with 2+ years of professional experience building React and TypeScript applications. For me, a feature isn't done just because it works. I also think about how the code will hold up a year from now, how easily the next person can extend it, and how the team can ship it without breaking what's already there.

Most of my work sits at the foundation of a product: the architecture, shared components, and design systems that other features are built on. I enjoy turning a designer's vision into a themeable, consistent component system, so new pages come together quickly and look right by default instead of by accident.

I'm comfortable taking on large, risky changes in production codebases, like full redesigns, framework upgrades, and moves onto shared libraries. My approach is to break them into small, safe steps behind feature flags, so the migration moves forward while the rest of the team keeps shipping features. I also like cleaning up along the way by removing duplication and layers that no longer need to exist.

On a team, I'm usually the go-to person for technical decisions. I plan the work, split it into tasks others can pick up, review code, and keep the architecture consistent as the codebase grows. I work closely with designers, product owners, and back-end engineers, and I'm at home in agile teams with sprint planning and backlog refinement.

I also work well on my own. Give me a loose idea and I'll take it to a working prototype, including real-time features over WebSockets, and present it to stakeholders. Outside the front end I've worked with Node.js, Express, C#/.NET, and PostgreSQL, and I build full-stack side projects end to end, from authentication and databases to Docker deployments. That lets me understand the whole system rather than just my part of it.
